RUTH OLSON
As a multi tasked person Ruth, while raising her children, has been able to express herself in her art as an interior designer and acrylic artist painter. While designing interiors for homes and business suites she also provided murals on both exterior and interiors of buildings, some of which her husband, George, designed as an architect. The largest were 9 feet high Swiss dancing figures located in the Swiss Alpine village of Midway, UT. Her murals are found in the ski resorts of Park City and Deer Valley, Midway, Spring City and Springville, UT and Denver, Co. She designed the interiors and hand made a huge macramé located in a bank in Bozeman, MT. She also paints her favorite subjects on furniture and has carved in wood and painted custom pieces for clients.
With her acrylics, though some
are multi-media, she paints her love of flowers, fish and
birds and landscapes. Recent paintings are of a series of scenes
from Florida and a recent trip to Italy where she and her husband
spent 3 1/2 months photographing Venice, Cinque Terra, Lake Garda,
Pisa, Verona and other sites. Some of her recent paintings of the
Italian landscape and beautiful flowers were left in Italy with
very satisfied clients.
Her art is in private collections in Utah, Montana, Florida, Italy,
Colorado, Oregon and California.
Working with her husband she now authors and edits books and helps with the illustrations.
